Although we may have a bit of app fatigue at this point, it’s hard to deny that there are many useful apps out there, and a lot that can help advance your career. The following five apps can support your career development by making job searches easier, increasing your networking reach and helping you learn valuable skills.

1) JobFinder

JobFinder is an easy-to-use system that does a lot of the work for you with regards to finding job leads. The app combs the internet to bring you the most recent job offers related to your search parameters.

When using the JobFinder app, or any other job search app for that matter, it’s a good idea to upload your resume in a mobile-friendly format. You should also make sure your resume includes essential keywords and phrases.

2) Yammer

Yammer is an app that allows companies to create a social network focused on their organization. To be able to a company’s Yammer network, you need to have an email address from that company’s domain. Yammer also allows for the creation of external networks that can include non-employees, like suppliers and clients.

3) LinkedIn Learning

In recent years, LinkedIn has made a substantial push toward educating its users, with LinkedIn Learning being the company’s main platform for career-oriented learning.

Totally free with a LinkedIn premium subscription ($30) LinkedIn Learning is very helpful for those who are serious about their career development. LinkedIn Learning offers three different educational options, learning by subject, software platform or “Learning Paths,” which are structured leaning regimens designed to help user get into a specific field.

4) Evernote

Evernote is an internet-based repository for anything you may want to read or use later.

If you have the free version of Evernote, you are only allowed to sync two devices, at most. If you want access on more devices, you have to pay $7.99 for Premium Evernote. Companies can buy Evernote Business for $14.99 per user per month.

Evernote extensions for web browsers and hardware makes the app even more powerful.

5) Ted-ED

You’ve likely heard of TED talks and the perception-shaking information that they can convey. TED-Ed is an app that put outside-the-box learning TED talks are known for in the palm of your hand.

The TED app is probably best known for TED-Ed Animations; short animated videos on unique ideas. According to the organization, TED-Ed Animations come from collaborations between TED Speakers and TED Fellows, a group which includes educators, scientists, journalists, historians and editors.
